Finca Nogales presents this Eccentric Caturra Decaf from the Arrayán lot, home to 6,000 Caturra trees at 1770 meters above sea level. The plot is naturally protected from harsh midday sun while receiving warm afternoon light, creating ideal ripening conditions and balanced cherry development.
After selective harvesting and flotation, the cherries are fermented for 24 hours and washed before drying on raised beds. The decaffeination process is carefully handled using repeated hot water immersion followed by the addition of a natural must derived from coffee pulp. This method gently extracts caffeine while preserving sweetness and structure. The beans are then washed and dried again to reach a final moisture of 10.5 percent.
The result is a vibrant, juicy decaf with round body and balanced acidity. Expect layered bubblegum sweetness, bright strawberry tones, and a grapefruit like acidity.
